Shimmer + Matte Series

After having done a series of matte shadow - only looks this summer, I read somewhere that doing an all-matte look can make one look aged and negate a youthful glow. That being said, I decided to do a series of looks using a palette of matte shadows + one shimmery shadow. Here is my first installment using 3, yes, three shadows:

Brushes you'll need:

- MAC #'s 214 (short shader brush), 217 (blending brush), 242 (shader brush), 222 (tapered blending brush), Small Angle Brush (263), and 116 (blush brush)

Products you'll need:

- MAC Eyeshadows in Blanc Type, Kid, and Woodwinked

- MAC Powder Blushes in Dame
- MAC Lipstick in Stay In Touch
- MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack

Supplemental:
- A brow-filling product - Mascara

Eyes...

[* Apply Blanc Type underneath the brow bone extending down to the crease (242).
[* Apply Kid to the area under the crease, in the crease, and heavily at the very outer corner of the lid (242 and 222).
[* Cover the entire area underneath the crease with Woodwinked (242).
[*
Line the lower lashes with Kid and repeat with Woodwinked on top (214).
[* Line upper lashes very thinly with Blacktrack (263).

Cheeks...

[*
Using a light hand, apply Dame to the apples of the cheeks extending outward toward the hairline (116).

Lips

[*
Coordinate with the neutral palette on the eyes with Stay In Touch.

Additional finishing steps: [Fill in eyebrows using MAC's #208 Angled Brow brush and MAC Eyeshadows in Charcoal Brown and Espresso], [Tame unruly brows using MAC Brow Finisher in Clear], and [Darken lashes using MAC's Plushlash mascara in Plushblack].
