New Year, New Look! & Spring 2010 Trend: Candy-colored Shadow

I am so excited! Why? I got a new haircut yesterday, that's why! I absolutely love it and am glad I took the leap because I ended up with a very rockerette/modern shag that has totally transformed my entire mood since then! This 'do is a dream to style and I took my hairdresser's advice and put a bit of a wave in it today for a movie night out with the fiance. It's been a while since I've done a "vibrant" eyeshadow look, so here's a look using two shadows I hardly use on a daily basis: Creme de Violet and Satellite Dreams.

Brushes you'll need:

- MAC #'s 214 (short shader brush), 217 (blending brush), 242 (shader brush), 222 (tapered blending brush), Small Angle Brush (263), and 116 (blush brush)

Products you'll need:

- MAC Eyeshadows in Vex, Beautiful Iris, Creme de Violet, Satellite Dreams, Smut, Carbon, and Sketch
- MAC Paintpot in Soft Ochre
- MAC Powder Blush in Flirt 'N Tease
- Givenchy Lipstick #25 in Rose Caprice
- MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
- MAC Technakohl Liner in Graphblack

Supplemental: - A brow-filling product - Mascara

Eyes...

[* Cover the entire lid from below the brow to the lash line with Soft Ochre using your finger.
[* Apply Vex to hightlight the area underneath the brow bone (217).
[* To the inner corner of the eye and the entire lid under the crease, apply Beautiful Iris (242).
[* Pack on Creme de Violet to the middle of the lid extending above the crease, blending with Beautiful Iris (222).
[* Apply Satellite Dreams to the crease meeting up to Creme de Violet and Vex, concentrating color at the outer V (222).
[* Create more depth and smokiness with Sketch in the outer V (222).
[* Line the lower lash line with Graphblack, then diffuse with a mixture of Smut and Carbon (242).

[* Line the lower lash line with a mixture of Sketch, Satellite Dreams, and Creme de Violet (242).
[* Line the upper lash line with Blacktrack (263).

Cheeks...

[* Apply Flirt 'N Tease to just outside the apple of the cheek, blending out toward the hairline (116).

Lips

[* Apply Rose Caprice Lipstick to lips
